Biography

William was born before 1510. He was married to Jane Wall before 1531 when her father named them in his will[1]. He was called William Sanderson, fishmonger of London in 1631 when he sued William Smith, a mariner, of Essex, over a debt[2]. William died around 1548 when his widow, Jane Sanderson married George Killingworth, by special license[3]. William Saunderson was on the Lay Subsidy Roll in Billingsgate Ward, London[4].

He would seem to be William Saunderson, Fishmonger, whose will was written in 1547[5]. It is a short will that does not mention children but named, Jane, his wife, as executor. He named, as one of his executors, Richard Turke, Alderman. Richard Turke was an Alderman in London and a member of the Fishmongers Company. Richard Turke was buried at St Magnus the Martyr Church, which is the church that this family lived beside and attended[6].
