James, son of Samuel Saxe and Isabella Howard, was born on 22 Nov 1852 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.^[1]

On 2 Dec 1882, James married Helen Axtell in New London, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.^[2] The couple had children:^[3]

Helen passed away on 27 Aug 1926.
