Andreas was born on May 12, 1852 in the village of Johannestal in the Beresan district of the Odessa area and Black Sea region of South Russia to Matthias Sayler and Magdalena (Fischer) Sayler. He was baptized on May 18, 1852.[1]
Family
On July 22, 1874, at the age of 22, Andreas married Rosina Delzer (1854-1917) in Johannestal.[2]

According to the 1910 census and their obituaries, Andreas and Rosina had a total of 13 children. Records can only be found for 9 of them. There is an Adolf Sayler listed as a child in the 1915 ND census, but he isn't listed in the 1910 census where it states 13 children which matches the obituaries.[3][4][5]
On September 29, 1918, at the age of 66, Andreas married Sophia Hepper (aka Haidt) (1859-1930) in Underwood, ND.[6]
Immigration
On May 30, 1894, at the age of 42, Andreas and Rosina, along with 8 children, arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Westernland traveling from Antwerp, Belgium.[7]
Death
On May 30, 1920, at the age of 68, Andreas passed away in Underwood, ND. He is buried in Underwood Cemetery.[8][9][4]

1905 South Dakota Census: Age 53, living in Detmold, McPherson, SD. He was married and working as a farmer.[12]
1910 U.S. Census: Age 57, living in McLean County, ND with his wife of 37 years and 2 children. He was working as a farmer.[3]
1915 North Dakota Census: Age 60+, living in McLean County, ND with his wife and 3(?) children.[5]
1920 U.S. Census: Age 67, living in Underwood, McLean, ND with his second wife.[13]
