Biography
Joseph was born in 1850 in Fredericksburg, Missouri to Michael Schrenk and Mary Schumm. The family was living in Perrysville, Missouri. His father served for the Union in the Civil War. His father died in 1868.
In 1870, Joseph and his two sister's families began homesteading in Long Prairie, Minnesota. His sister Catherine was married to Michael Nesslein. His sister Mary was married to Michael Dinkel.
In 1875, Joseph married Lena Schmidt. They had four children, all born in Long Prairie. In 1917, Joseph and Lena moved into Long Prairie village. Lena died 1936 in Long Prairie at age 80. Joseph passed away in 1938.
