Biography

Sarah was born on 20 Nov 1840 in Berks, Pennsylvania. Sarah was the daughter of Joel and Mary (Lutz) Sechler.

Sarah married Jacob Kunkel in 1861 in Berks Pennsylvania.

Sarah died on 19 May 1918 in Rockland, Berks, Pennsylvania. She was buried in New Bethel Union Cemetery, Kempton, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Obituary

MOTHER OF SEVENTEEN DEAD AT KEMPTON

KEMPTON, May 22. -Sarah (nee Sechler), widow of Jacob Kunkel, died at the residence of her son Albert, near Kempton, of general debility and hemorrhages, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 29 days. Deceased was a daughter of the late Joel and wife Mary (nee Lutz) Sechler and was a member of the Reformed congregation of the New Bethel church for a large part of her life time. The illness of which she finally succumbed covered a period of nearly eight years.

She was the mother of 17 children of which 10 survive; Oscar, Francis, Oliver, of Weatherly; Alvesta, wife of Samuel Hamm, and Albert, of Kempton; Wilson, Blandon; Harvey, Virginsville; Benjamin and Frank, Dreibelbis; Beulah, wife of Ezra Faust, Albany; Mrs. Dietrich Weatherly; Mrs. Lewis Bailey, Reading; Mrs. A. C. Braucher and Mrs. Henry Dietrich, both of Kempton. Funeral, Thursday.
