Biography
James was born about 1811. In 1836, he married Sophia Bishop in Walcot, Somerset, and they moved to Tavistock, Devon and had the following children: Edward (1837-) who was born in Tavistock but christened in London, Elizabeth (1839-1843), Henry (1841-1842), Henry (1843-) and Alfred (1849-). James worked as a basket maker, a trade that Edward followed. Sophia died in 1Q1867 aged 59 in Tavistock and in 4Q1870, James married Elizabeth Moyle, a widow with three daughters. He died 2Q1876 in Tavistock.
