Biography

Wyatt Shipp was born in Kentucky.

Wyatt was born about 1800 in Kentucky. He was the son of John Shipp and Nellie Sanders.^[1]

He married Mary Chandler on 19 July 1821 in Green County, Kentucky. Mary's father Horatio Chandler gave his consent for the license to be issued on 17 July 1821. Wyatt's father John severed as his bondsman and gave his consent for the marriage. They were married by John Chandler, the grandfather of the bride.^[2][3][4]

Wyatt and his wife Polly signed a deed dated 9 November 1849 along with his siblings to transfer land in Taylor County, Kentucky to Freeman Ramsey.^[5]

Wyatt died on 1 March 1877 in Hart County, Kentucky. He was buried in the Shipp family cemetery.^[6][7]
