George Shires was a Tennessean.

Biography

George was born in 1843. In 1850-60, he was living with his parents and siblings in Maury County, Tennessee.^[1][2]

He served in the U. S. Civil War. ^[3][4]

George Shires first married Caladonia Aldridge. ^[5] In 1870, they had one son and were lfiving in Grayson, Texas. ^[6]She died in 1879. ^[7] He then married Henrietta Bodiford. ^[8] In 1880, they are living in Williamson, Texas. ^[9]

He passed away in 1889, likely in Sneads, Jackson County, Florida. ^[10][11] In the 1900 census, Henrietta is listed as a widow. ^[12]

George was born in 1843. He was the son of Jacob Shires and Emily Chunn. He passed away in 1886.
