Biography

Ellis was the son of Daniel Sigler and Margaret Ann Elizabeth (Snider) Sigler of Monroe County, Alabama.[1]He married Rebecca Jane Williamson in 1848. In the late 1850's, Ellis relocated his family along with brothers James Monroe and Jacob Snider and settled near Sugartown, Louisiana.[2]He and his brother Jacob enlisted in the CSA on April 19, 1862 in New Orleans.[3]

Ellis died three days after Jacob during the Civil War in Vicksburg, Mississippi.[4][5]
