John was held at Louisville KY until his transfer Jan 2 1865 to Camp Chase OH. John died of Anasarca, at Camp Chase Ohio May 29, 1865. He is buried in, Grave 56, row 39, grave marker number 2005, Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery.
