John was held at Louisville KY until his transfer Jan 2 1865 to Camp Chase OH. John died of Anasarca, at Camp Chase Ohio May 29, 1865. He is buried in, Grave 56, row 39, grave marker number 2005, Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery. Columbus, Ohio 2900 Sullivant Ave. This data was extracted from the register compiled in the war dept., Washington, D.C. This list was prepared by Dept. Army , Chicago Administration Center, Cemetery Division, 1819 West Pershing Rd. Chicago 9. IL and from muster roll company A 30th regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of TN C.S.A., Butts County Invincibles. This company became Co. I, upon reorganization sept. 25, 1862.
