Biography
Caroline Singley, daughter of Peter C. and Caroline Matilda (Alter)(Loar) Singley, was born in 1836, as shown in her listing in her father’s household in the 1850 census in Ligonier twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. She appears in her mother's household in the 1860 census.
Caroline appears as "Caroline M. Smith," widow, in the 1880 census in Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, age 39, b. Pa. She is listed with a son Bertie L. Bronson, age 7
In her mother's 1874 will (probated in 1877), Caroline's name is given curiously as Caroline Singley now Bronsen.[1]
Caroline appears in the 1900 census in Derry twp., Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in the household of her son B.L. Brunson as follows: Caroline Brunson, 64, b. Mar. 1836 Pa., widowed, total number of children: 1; living children: 1.
