Biography

Matthew was born in 1862 at Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. He was the son of James Skivington and Mary Carton.^[1]

In the 1871 census Matthew (age 8) was the son of James Skivington in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.^[2]

In the 1881 census Mathew (age 17), Joiner, was the stepson of Samuel Rose at 15 Crete St, Kirkdale, Lancashire, England.^[3]

Matthew arrived on 29 January 1882 in Queensland. ^[4]
