William was born about 1714[1] His parents were Thomas Skinner and his wife Ann.
William married Hannah Noble on 18 October 1739 in Brighton, Sussex, England.[2] They had four chidren including twins Elizabeth and Hannah
William's son William Skinner was baptised on 27 December 1739 in Lewes, Sussex, England.[3]
William's daughter Elizabeth Skinner was baptised on 3 January 1741 in Lewes, Sussex, England.[4]
William's daughter Hannah Skinner was baptised on 3 January 1741 in Lewes, Sussex, England.[5]
William's son Thomas Skinner was baptised on 29 August 1744 in Lewes, Sussex, England.[6]
It is not known when William passed away. There is a burial on 29thAugust, 1744 which may be for William, but this is unproven. His last child was baptised on that same day.
Research Notes
The birth location of William`s father Thomas is unknown. Baptisms for eleven Thomas Skinners in Sussex were researched from which three possible baptisms were identified in Billingshurst, Chailey, and Plumpton. Billingshurst is 31.6 miles from Lewes, Chailey is 6.5 miles from Lewes and Plumpton is 4.4 miles from Lewes. All are possible but none can be pinpointed
