Together with Moestianah or Mustianah or Mustiana he had 2 children. Hendrik (Hendrikus) and Corrie (Cornelia) Spruit.

I tried to find more information about Moestianah but (May 2019) without success.

It looks that Hendrik Spruit was family of Cornelis. Can be father, uncle or brother. Cornelis was 12 years old when this Hendrik passed away.

Memory

My father recalled that he met a woman he called “oma”. She was the (second?) wife of his grandfather Cornelis Spruit. He doesn’t know if she was the mother of his mother as he doesn’t recall his mother mentioning that it was her mother. “Oma’s” surname was Coert. She also left Dutch East Indies to go to The Netherlands. My father remembers he visited her a couple of times in The Netherlands.

28.06.2019 Sent e-mail to roosjeroos.nl about explanation “erkenning” as remark with birth registration. Their response was: “Erkenning” houdt in, dat de ouders niet of nog niet gehuwd waren. Als in zo’n geval de vader de geboorte bij de gemeente kwam aangeven, dan kon hij erkennen, dat het kind, dat hij aangaf ook echt zijn eigen kind was. Het kind kreeg dan de familienaam van de vader.
