Biography
Peter Steding is mentioned as the father of Hans Carsten Stegen, who was born in Beverbeck in 1718.[1] At that time, Peter Steding was a farmhand at farmer Meier's farm in Beverbeck (farms nos. 1, 2 and 4 were farmed by a farmer Meier at that time). When his son got married in 1748, he was a farmhand in Wichmannsdorf (his last name being spelled Stegen in the wedding entry). No further information is given in OFB Bienenbüttel.
Research Note
Peter's death date is given as "after 1748" based on the fact that he is mentioned as living in the wedding entry of his son Hans Carsten that year.
Peter Stegen may also be the father of Christian Hinrich Stegen, born 1727 in Eitzen I (where Peter's son Hans Carsten later worked as a shepherd), as mentioned in OFB Natendorf.
