Biography
Peter Steding is mentioned as the father of Hans Carsten Stegen, who was born in Beverbeck in 1718.[1] At that time, Peter Steding was a farmhand at farmer Meier's farm in Beverbeck (farms nos. 1, 2 and 4 were farmed by a farmer Meier at that time). When his son got married in 1748, he was a farmhand in Wichmannsdorf (his last name being spelled Stegen in the wedding entry). No further information is given in OFB Bienenbüttel.
Research Note
- Peter's death date is given as "after 1748" based on the fact that he is mentioned as living in the wedding entry of his son Hans Carsten that year.
- Peter Stegen may also be the father of Christian Hinrich Stegen, born 1727 in Eitzen I (where Peter's son Hans Carsten later worked as a shepherd), as mentioned in OFB Natendorf.
