Biography

Samuel Steers was born in 1851. His birth was registered in Brighton, Sussex, England.^[1]He was the son of John Steers and Emma Eastwood.

At the time of the 1861 England Census, he was in Brighton and his occupation was recorded 'Scholar'.^[2]

He emigrated to Australia at 8 with mother Emma and brother Henry in 1862 on the "Swiftsure".^[3]

He married Sarah Jane Kempster in 1882 in Victoria, Australia.^[4] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
