Hannah was born 2 May 1828 and baptised "Hanah Tayler" on 15 November 1830 at Salem Methodist New Connexion, Halifax, daughter of John Tayler and Susanna Spencer[1][2]. She was baptised the same day as her sister: the records read "John Tayler of Northowram parish of Halifax Weaver By his wife Susannah daughter of Jas Spencer weaver of Farm Place"
In the 1841 census, Susey Taylor (40, a Grocer), Abram Taylor (13), Mary Taylor (20), Hannah Taylor (13) and James Taylor (4), all born in Yorkshire, are resident on Upper Crib Lane, Halifax, Yorkshire[3]
In the 1851 census, John Hardcastle (62, a Grocer), his wife Susey Hardcastle (56), and their children Elizabeth Taylor (21, unmarried, a flower setter for carpets), Hannah (24, a flower setter for carpets) and James (14, a shop boy), all born Northowram except James (who was born Halifax), are resident at 3 Upper Crib Lane, Halifax, Yorkshire[4]
Hannah died 7 March 1862 at Green Lane, Halifax. She was a dressmaker. Cause of death was "chronic bronchitis many years" (like her mother). In attendance was James Taylor of Green Lane[5]. She is buried in plot 3863, Lister Lane Cemetery with her brother James and his family[6]
