TERRANOVA - Dominic J. Of Lancaster, NY passed away September 22, 2017. Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary (Renzoni); devoted father of Joseph (Peggy), Dr. Marilyn Terranova (Martin Miller), Dr. Michael (Susan), Diane Waterman (Douglas), Anne Gaca (Ronald), Lisa Shipman (Henry); Dominic was a cherished grandfather of 12 and a great-grandfather of 7. Dominic practiced law in his private practice for 55 years in the Village of Lancaster. He was the Town of Lancaster Attorney for 25 years. Dominic was appointed Chief Counsel of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in 1986 which he served until March of 1991. He appreciated being Chairman of the Lancaster Democratic Party for ten years. Dominic was a true community devotee by actively participating in the Lancaster Lions Club, the Knights of Saint John and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing with close friends and was an avid sailor. He loved sailing his 21 foot sailboat on Canandaigua Lake with his family for many years. Dominic served as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps, USAR from 1953-1955. Relatives will be present to receive family and friends at Wendel & Loecher, INC., Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 158 Lavarack Ave., Lancaster, NY on Wednesday, October 25 at 9:30. Entombment will be at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Lancaster, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lancaster Public Library or The Food Bank of Western New York.
