Biography

Robert Wilson Trowbridge was born on 20 July 1875 in Washington, Tazewell, Illinois. He was the son of James L. Trowbridge and Nancy Ann McCullough.[1]

In 1880 he was living in Washington, Tazewell, Illinois, United States.[2] The household included James Trobridge 37, wife Nancy Trobridge 32, son Lorin Trobridge 9, son George Trobridge 7, and son Robert Trobridge 4. James was a farmer.

Robert Wilson Trowbridge and Margaret Jane Ryan were married on 14 December 1898 in Tazewell, Illinois, United States. He was the son of James W. Trobridge and Nancy McCulloch. She was the daughter of W. Ryan and Bridget Kuden.[3]

In 1900 he was living in Washington Township, Tazewell, Illinois, United States.[4] The household included Robert Trowbridge 25, wife Maggie Trowbridge 26, and son Clarence R Trowbridge 1. Robert and Maggie had been married 1 year. Maggie was the mother of 1 child, living. Robert was a day laborer.

In 1910 he was living in Brimfield, Peoria, Illinois, United States.[5] The household included Robert W Trowbridge 33, wife Margaret Trowbridge 36, son Clarence Trowbridge 10, son James W Trowbridge 8, daughter Prudence Trowbridge 6, son August Trowbridge 4, daughter Agnes Trowbridge 3, daughter Margaret Trowbridge 2, and hired man Nicholas Frice 37. Robert and Margaret had been married 12 years. Margaret was the mother of 6 children, all living. Robert was a farmer. Margaret immigrated from Ireland in 1891.

He registered for the World War I draft in 1917-1918 in Peoria, Illinois, United States.[6]

In 1920 he was living in Radnor Township, Peoria, Illinois, United States.[7] The household included Robert Trowbridge 44, son James Trowbridge 18, daughter Prudence Trowbridge 16, son August Trowbridge 14, daughter Agnes Trowbridge 13, and daughter Margaret Trowbridge 11. Robert was a farmer.

In 1930 he was living in Chillicothe, Peoria, Illinois, United States.[8] The household included Michael Mcdonald 61, brother-in-law Robert Trowbridge 54, and sister Mary Trowbridge 53. Michael was a farmer. Robert was a farm laborer.

In 1940 he was living in Chebanse, Iroquois, Illinois.[9] The household included Robert Trowbridge 64. Robert was a farm laborer.

In 1950 he was living in Hallock Township, Peoria, Illinois, United States.[10] The household included August Trowbridge 44 years, wife Margaret Trowbridge 43 years, son Arthur Trowbridge 21 years, and father Robert Trowbridge 75 years. August was a farmer. Arthur was a parts repairman at an implement store. Robert was widowed and was a retired farmer.

He died 8 Mar 1954 in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois[11] and is buried in Saint Clements Cemetery, Dunlap, Peoria County, Illinois.[12]
