Biography

Margaret Alice Trowbridge, known as Alice, was born to Matilda (Mitchell) and William Trowbridge on November 4, 1856, in Tampico, Grassy Fork Township, Jackson County, Indiana. ^[1] She was the third of seven children born to Matilda and William.

Margaret married Edward Franklin Deal on January 7, 1880, in Cincinnati, Ohio.^[2]

Ten children were born to Margaret and Edward; Eva May, Ida Ethel, Emma Caroline, Edna Belle, Aureila, Frances Edwin, Roy Trowbridge, Matilda Olive, Alice Marie and Holmes Ellsworth.

Edward and Alice moved to a farm near Danvers, McLean County, Illinois, USA. The girls joined them once they were established.

• Eva May was born on January 25, 1882. Eva passed away seven days later.

• Ida Ethel was born on November 21, 1882.

In the spring of 1884, Edward and Alice packed up their three children and moved to Colorado City in central Texas. Colorado City was a rapidly growing rail head where cattle were load on trains for transportation to eastern cities. Edward was in the furniture business and on the side was an undertaker.

Their little family grew in Colorado City.

• Emma Caroline was born on January 10, 1885.

• Edna Belle was born on March 27, 1887.

• Aureila was born on December 9, 1888.

• Frances Edwin was born on November 15, 1890.

• Roy Trowbridge was born on June 12, 1892.

Alpha married Joseph E. Binnion on March 12, 1893.

In the fall of 1893, Edward and Alice packed up their family, except for Alpha, and returned to Danvers, Illinois.

• Matilda Olive was born on December 7, 1893.

Edward and Alice received word from Texas that their first grandchild, Pyrle Deal Binnion, was born to Alpha and Joseph Binnion on March 11, 1894.

Frank and Alice moved the family moved to a small farm west of Bloomington, Illinois.

Alice Marie was born on April 8, 1896.

Edward and Alice received word from Texas that their second grandchild, Felix Murry Binnion, was born was born to Alpha and Joseph Binnion on May 28, 1896.

Sad news arrived from Texas of the death of Alpha's husband, Deputy Sheriff Joseph Binnion who had been shot in the line of duty on April 10, 1897, and passed away four days later.

Effie returned to Colorado City, perhaps to help her sister.

In December 1897, Frank and Alice moved the family to Normal, Illinois.

Alpha married Albert Ellsworth King on April 20, 1898, in Texas.

Effie married Walter Edward Lasky on September 11, 1898, in Colorado City.

Edward and Alice received word from Texas that their third grandchild, Gladys Elizabeth King, was born to Alpha and Albert King on November 16, 1898.

Holmes Ellsworth was born on December 16, 1899.

Alpha and Effie moved their families to Normal some time after 1900.

On November 8, 1902, Wayne Edward Lasky was born to Effie and Walter Lasky.

On April 15, 1904, George Edward King was born to Alpha and Albert King.

Carrie married Harry J Bryan on September 14, 1904, in Normal.

Ethel married William Todd on October 26, 1904, in Normal.

On September 14, 1905, Edward John Bryan was born to Carrie and Harry Bryan.

On October 5, 1905, Frances Todd was born to Ethel and William Todd.

Aura married Henry Stutzman on August 23, 1906.

On July 17, 1907, Margaret L. Todd was born to Ethel and William Todd.

On July 29, 1907, William Franklin Stutzman was born to Aura and Henry Stutzman.

On November 3, 1907, Sara Alice Bryan was born to Carrie and Harry Bryan.

Edna married John Algert Rynell on June 10, 1908, in Normal.

On March 26, 1909, Lucille Elizabeth Rynell was born to Edna and John Rynell.

On April 9, 1909 Kathryn Emma Stutzman was born to Aura and Henry Stutzman.

On June 24, 1909, Albert Elsworth King was born to Alpha and Albert King.

On December 6, 1911, Mary Deal was born to Esther and Frank Deal.

On February 1, 1913, Ruby Irene King was born to Alpha and Albert King.

Mae married Henry Samuel Woollen on May 4, 1913, in Normal.

On March 17, 1914, Franklin Knights Woollen was born to Mae and Henry Woollen.

On June 25, 1914, Robert Roy Rynell was born to Edna and John Rynell.

On January 8, 1915, Margaret Woollen was born to Mae and Henry Woollen.

On March 29, 1915, Richard Raymond King was born to Alpha and Albert King.

On January 8, 1916, Emory Ellsworth Bryan was born to Carrie and Harry Bryan.

On April 8, 1916, Elmer Henry Woollen was born to Mae and Henry Woollen.

On May 28, 1916, Louise Deal was born to Esther and Frank.

Roy married Sydney Margaret Windsor on September 15, 1918, in Buffalo, Eire County, New York, USA. Two weeks later, 2nd Lt Roy Deal ship out with the 302nd Tank Battalion on the way to France.

On April 16, 1919, Helen Floreen Woollen was born to Mae and Henry Woollen.

In June 1919, 1st Lt Roy Deal returned from France and was discharged on July 22, 1919.

On June 16, 1920, Robert Windsor Deal was born to Sydney and Roy Deal.

On December 9, 1920, Alice Josephine Rynell was born to Edna and John Rynell.

On July 21, 1921, Leslie Raymond Woollen was born to Mae and Henry Woollen.

On October 8, 1923, Marjorie Alice Deal was born to Sydney and Roy Deal.

Holmes married Marion Comelia Porterfield on June 29, 1924, in Normal.

On July 4, 1924, Paul Franklin Deal was born to Esther and Frank Deal.

On August 23, 1924, Elizabeth Mae Bryan was born to Carrie and Harry Bryan.

On May 1, 1925, Marion Leona Deal was born to Marion and Holmes Deal.

On October 25, 1926, James Tedford Rynell was born to Edna and John Rynell.

Edward passed away on October 25, 1927.^[3]

On March 17, 1928, Ralph Ellsworth Deal was born to Marion and Holmes Deal.

Aura married Levora V. Wade in 1928.

On August 28, 1930, Curtis Leroy Deal was born to Marion and Holmes Deal.

On May 4, 1931, Claud Donald Rynell was born to Edna and John Rynell.

On December 9, 1931, Walter Edward Lasky, husband of Effie, passed away.

On November 2, 1932, Virginia Ruth Deal was born to Sydney and Roy Deal.

Effie married married Harry Mortimer Beatty on February 24, 1933, in Peoria, Illinois, USA.

Margaret passed away on August 31, 1935, at the age of 78 year, in Normal, McLean County, Illinois.^[1] Her remains were laid to rest in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers, McLean County, Illinois.^[1]

They were Married in Cincinatti, Ohio and went immediately to Danvers, ILL, where he farmed for a number of years. Two daughters were born to them while living there. Eva May born January 15, 1882 and died eight days later. Ida Ethel, born November 21, 1882.
