William Urquhart was born in King Edward parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom in 1801, the son of John Urquhart and Isabella Moir.[1]
William was one of the absentee proprietors of the Craigston and Meldrum Estates on the Island of Carriacou in the Caribbean.[2]
In 1833 he received compensation from the British Government when slavery was abolished. He owned two estates in Grenada [3]
William Urquhart of Craigston passed away in King Edward parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom on the 25th of March 1847.[4]
