Biography

Dorothy (Dolly) Van Winkle was born, likely in Mamakating, Ulster County (now Sullivan County), New York, in about 1796.^[2] She was the daughter of Moses Van Winkle and Elizabeth Tyler.^[2]

Dolly married William Butler in Muskingum County, Ohio, 13 Oct 1814.^[3]

Dorothy's precise date of death isn't established, but she definitely passed after 19 Jun 1860, as on that day she resided with her husband, William, in Cass Township, Muskingum County.^[4]
