Lance was born in 1968. He was the son of Dave Vieu. He passed away in 1995.

• "[1]." "The funeral is today, Feb. 25, for Lance Edward Vieu of Dexter, who died Feb. 22 of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was 26.

He was born Aug. 24, 1968, in Trukee, Calif., to David and Barbara Baker Vieu. He moved to Oregon in 1980 and attended junior high and high school in Milton-Freewater. He moved to Dexter in 1993 and married Shannon Brown there on Nov. 23, 1994.

Vieu was a timber faller with Northwest Temporary Services and had just been hired by Echo Springs Dairy on Feb. 20.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and taking hikes. According to his family, he was a born-again Christian, loved God and was a defender of the underdog. He attended the Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Other interests included caring for his dog, Gypsie, and working on his Volkswagon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, who live in Newberg; grandparents, DeWitt Clinton and Florence Baker of Blairsden, Calif.; a brother, Clinton, of Pullman, Wash.; and a sister, Karin, of Scotts Valley, Calif.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to noon today at Springfield Memorial Gardens Celestial Funeral Home. Today’s service is at 2:30 p.m. at the Fall Creek Seventh-day Adventist Church, with burial at Valley View Cemetery, Marcola.
