Harriet was born around July 1832 in the Village of Bentworth, 3 miles (5 km) east of the Market Town of Alton, East Hampshire District, Hampshire, South East Region, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Vince and Sarah Earle. George Morrow and Harriet Morrow (nee Vince) who selected land at Mirboo East in the year 1879, Harriet Morrow being the first white woman to settle in that district. George Morrow came from the north of Ireland and was a Farmer by trade and, previous to settling on the land at Mirboo East, was for a time connected with the gold mines at Matlock (Victoria). He was well known in the Mirboo district for the potatoes he used to grow.
Harriet Morrow was born in England and was possessed of a fine singing voice. After coming to the Mirboo East district with her husband and six children, she was well known for the wonderful deeds she did, particularly in attending mothers at childbirth and sickness. One particular case, she walked fifteen miles through dense scrub to attend such a case, and after doing so, walked home again the same day, doing part of the journey bare-footed. They raised a family of seven children all told, three girls and four boys. George Morrow died in approximately 1897, Harriet Morrow, 1895. The following are the names of the children:— Sarah, William, Robert, Edward, Val, Barbara and Mabel.
They were all married except Mabel, who was a nurse. She was matron of the Austin Hospital, also the Laughtane private hospital and Greenvale Sanatorium, all of Melbourne. She also started two bush nursing hospitals in Tasmania and one at Dimboola, Victoria, before going to the Soloman Islands to act as nurse and missionary for a period of 12 years (?). After contracting Black Water Fever there, she died in the Heidelberg Hospital on Nov. 30th, 1939[1].
Her baptism takes place on the 29 July 1832 at the Parish Church of Saint Mary, Church Street, in the Village of Bentworth, Alton, East Hampshire District, Hampshire, South East Region, England[2].
George (Morrow) marries Harriet (Vince) on the 31 December 1859 at the residence of Stephen (Vince), in the Town of Yackandandah, in the District of Yackandah, Shire of Indigo, High Country, 313 km (194 mi) northeast of the capital City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Harriet (24) emigrates, aboard the vessel "Shalimar" on the 17 August 1857 from the Port of Liverpool, on the river Mersey, Lancashire, England. She arrives in the Port of Geelong, Victoria, Australia on the 11 November 1857[4].
Harriet (Vince) passes away on the 8 October 1895 at the Homeopathic Hospital, St Kilda Road, City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She was 60 years old at the time and the cause of death was certified to be from an Internal Tumour, which she'd had for some time[7]. Her burial takes place on the 11 October 1895 at the Boolara Cemetery, Barktown Road, in the Town of Boolara, Shire of Morwell, County of Bulu Bulu, Central Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The location of her grave is in the Church of England Section; Line number: 1; Grave number: 18[8].
