Obituary:

Henry James Vitak was born in St. Paul, Minn. on Feb 8, 1892 to James and Anna Vitak. They moved to the Maple Lake area when he was five years old, and he lived there until his unexpected death in Maple Lake Township on Wed. Oct. 27, 1976. He was 84 years of age at the time of his death. He leaves to nourn his wife, Julia; two steo-children, Robert Miller and Shirley Esjornson; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Vtiak, who lives at the Monticello Nursing Home. Preceding him in death was one step-grandson, David Veches, in October, 1967; one brother, Arthur, on Jan. 5, 1939, and one sister, Helen Howie, in Arcadia, Calif., in Feb. 1963. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 31 from the Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel in Monticello, with Paster Douglas Nicholas of the United Methodist Church officiating. Richard Quick was the vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Grabinski. Casket bearers were his grandsons: John Veches, Joseph Veches, Richard Veches, Robert Miller, Jr., Clinton Rigenhagen, Duane Meyer, Gordon Howard and Richard Ives. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Monticello
