Josiah Warren was born 10 May 1808 in Pennsylvania.[1] He is the son of John and Mary. His parents left England with two children, one of whom died at sea. They settled in Sullivan in 1800.[2] Josiah's father died when he was 5 years old.[3]
He married Sarah Glidewell 8 January 1828.[4] They had eleven children, three of whom died in infancy.[5]

In 1834 Josiah and Sarah settled in Ohio for a year but then returned to Pennsylvania.[14]
In 1850 Josiah lived with his wife, Sarah, and their children in Canton, Bradford, Pennsylvania. Josiah was a farmer.[15]
In 1860 Josiah lived with his wife, Sarah, and his children in Canton Township, Bradford, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer.[16]
In 1870 Josiah lived with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Sarah and Joseph in Bedford, Bedford, Pennsylvania.[17]
In 1900 he lived with his son, Charles, and Charles' wife, Celestia and their children, C. Erret, and Edna C. in Canton Township, Bradford, Pennsylvania.[18]
He died 9 March 1904 and was buried in Windfall Cemetery in Granville Summit, Bradford, Pennsylvania.[19] In his obituary was described as a successful farmer, who made friends where ever he went. He was young of heart and loved to dance a clog to show how nimble he was and "how Father Time had dealt so leniently with him".[20]
