Biography

Flora was born in 1906. She was the daughter of Robert Waters and Eleanor Lenihan.

Flora married David Stephenson in 1932 which was reported in the Brisbane Courier newspaper on 15 April 1932.

STEPHENSON-WATERS. The marriage of Mr. David George Stephenson (elder son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Stephenson, Greenslopes) and Miss Flora Lois Waters (younger daughter of Mrs. K. Waters and the late Mr. R. C. Waters, Greenslopes) was celebrated at the Latterday Saints' Church, Woolloongabba, last evening by District President A. Campbell. Mrs. B. Sharman presided at the organ, and Mr. T. Dean rendered a vocal solo. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. W. E. Waters), wore a frock of pale pink satin beauté with a veil of pale pink tulle, which she wore with a Chantilly lace cap. She carried a bouquet of roses and dahlias. The bridesmaids (Misses Maude Waters and Muriel Stephenson) were frocked alike in Lido blue crepe de Chine. Their hats of pale pink crinoline straw were caught off the face with pink ribbon. Their bouquets were of pink roses. Mr. Ian Solis was best man, and Mr. Robert Stephenson was the groomsman. The reception was held at the Jenolan Cafe, where the table decorations were carried out with South African marigolds set in golden tulle. The bride's mother was in black crepe de Chine, relieved with mastic, with a black straw hat. The bridegroom's mother chose a gown of brown crepe de Chine with a hat to tone. On leaving for the honeymoon, which will be spent at Southport, the bride wore a traveling frock of Burgundy silk Marocain with a hat to harmonise.

She passed away in 1952.
