Benjamin (Bernard) Wein was born in 1887 in Kamenets, Russia. He was the son of Yisrael Wein and Taube Weinbrot. He emigrated to the United States from Rotterdam and arrived in New York on or about 23 June 1903.[1] In 1905 and 1910 the family lived in Manhattan, New York.[2][3]
Bernard married Rose Gold on 20 November 1910 in Manhattan, New York.[4] They had two children, daughter Estelle[5] and son Irwin.[6][7]
According to his draft registration Bernard was a cigar store owner.[8]
In Bernard and Rose were living with Estelle, her husband and child in Brooklyn.[9]
Research notes
In 1907-1910 he was a cigar maker. The witnesses in his petition for naturalization were Bernard Tashker, book keeper, and Mandel Weissman.[10] He was naturalized American in 1912.[11]
