Famous Hungarian Opera singer and teacher of music
Her father, János Wein, is the first director and partly the founder of the Budapest Waterworks. She graduated from the opera department of the Academy of Drama in 1881, was contracted to the National Theater on April 1, 1884 , and was a member of the Opera House , which opened from September until 1899. During her farewell performance, due to the departure of the protesters from the music academies, István Keglevich closed the student box. The case had a huge press coverage, and the issue was even discussed in parliament. After a long hiatus, Keglevich let the girls back into the lodge, designating the gallery for the boys. [1] She also performed in Vienna (1897) and Cluj-Napoca .
In 1882 she married the poet Emil Ábrányi . From 1901 to 1920 she was a teacher at the Academy of Music .She was the first to sing the title role of several operas in Budapest. She rests in the Kerepesi út cemetery with her husband and other members of the Ábrányi family.
