Roy was born in 1922. He was the son of Clayton Whitson and Anna Bradshaw. He passed away in 2014.[1]

Roy Britt Whitson, age 91, of Greeneville passed away of natural causes on October 29, 2014 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Whitson was born November 8, 1922, the son of the late Clayton and Anna Whitson. He was married to the former Shirley Jones of Jonesborough, TN. He was a graduate of Washington College Academy. Mr. Whitson was a World War II veteran, serving in the Eighth Air Force as a radio operator/ machine gunner on an Army Air Force bomber while he was stationed in England and in France during the war. Mr. Whitson was employed as the Parts Department Manager by Towne Gate Motors in Greeneville for most of his life. Mr. Whitson and his family were members of the First Baptist Church in Greeneville. Mr. Whitson enjoyed fishing and golfing, as well as playing the guitar. He was a recent resident of the Life Care Center of Greeneville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Whitson and daughter Jill Harris.
Funeral services for Mr. Whitson will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Rev. Jeremy Dykes and Rev. Joey Tillery will be officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Gardens. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside.The Whitson family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm Saturday prior to services.
