Robert was born in 1866. He married Anna Paulina Winterhalder, Titisee-Saig, Seehof in 1901. They had 3 children. He was farmer and innkeeper on Schneckenhof, Schollach, between 1893 and 1932. He passed away in 1932. [1]
He was inventor of the world wide first ski lift in 1908. In 1909 he received the corresponding patent for Germany, Norway, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland. In 1910 also for France. He never had the chance to earn a lot of money with his invention. [2]
