Anna Maria Wisner was born on 17 Apr 1859 in Dormecke, Westfalen, daughter of Johann Conrad Linne (1813–1875) and Anna Elisabeth Stappert (1820–1894).^[1][2]

In the 1870 census Anna (age 14), House Work Domestic, was in Saint Helena, Cedar, Nebraska.^[4]
