Clara Elizabeth Woolery was the daughter of

Ellen (Ella) Capron (b 1852 NY; d 1882 Ohio or KS) married (prob 1870 in KS) and

George Woolery (George William) (b 1843 Ohio; d 1919 KS) (Co. H 70th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Find A Grave # 69599914) Parents Michael & Roseanna Small Woolery^[1]

Clara and George had 3 Children: Isabelle, Richmond, and Clara; all born Lyndon Kansas.

(October 25, 1922; Kirwin Kansan) Mrs. Clara Rogers, for sometime owner and proprietress of the Commercial Hotel in Kirwin, died about midnight, Tuesday night October 24 at Kensington. She had been taken there a few weeks ago that she might have the benefit of hospital attention. All medical skill could do was done, but the end came as stated. The body was brought to Kirwin today and the funeral will be held at the Congressional Church, Thursday at 2pm. We hope to have an outline of her life for publication next week

(November 1, 1922 Kirwin Kansan) Obituary - CLARA ELIZABETH WOOLERY was born in Shawnee Co. Kansas, August 22 1876. At an early age she joined the Methodist Church at Lyndon of which she remained a member until death claimed her, October 25, 1922. At the age of 46 yrs, 2 mos, 3 days. On December 24 1891, she was united in marriage to William A. Rogers of Lyndon, Kansas. To this union three children were born, Laura Duncan of Suisun, CA, Mae Whitney of Lyndon, KS, and Fred Rogers also of Lyndon. Besides the three children, she leaves to mourn 7 Grandchildren, one Brother Richmond Woolery, of Kansas City, KS, and one Sister, Mrs. Belle Burnett of Hahatonka, Missouri. She moved to Kirwin from McPherson three years ago, where she has made her home most of the time since. Mrs. Rogers was the proprietress of the Commercial Hotel and was a splendid hotel woman. She made many friends who are sorry to know of her death.
