Mary "Polly" Wootton, daughter of Joel Hardy Wooten and Elizabeth (Jordan) Wooten, was born on 17 June 1792 at Georgia.
She married Millington Powell on 1 Aug. 1811 at Putnam County, Georgia.[1]
She appeared on the census of 27 Oct. 1850 at Chambers County, Alabama.[2]Millington passed away in 1843.
She married John Brown on 10 December 1854 in Harris County, Georgia.[3] John passed away seven days later.
In the 1860 US Census, Mary is living in the household of her daughter Martha Bass, wife of Noah Bass, in Chambers County.[4]
Mary died on 17 April 1862 at Chambers County, Alabama (the area became a part of Lee County in 1866 when that county was formed) and was buried at Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Lee County, Alabama. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone and identifies her husband Millington.[5]
