Hi WikiTreers!

Here are a few things happening around the community this week:

  • 378 WikiTreers made 1,000 or more edits and additions in July. 2,370 made 100 or more. Of course, quality counts more than quantity. But quantity is easier to count. :-) Thanks to members like you, our shared tree is growing and improving rapidly.
  • Data Doctors Winner badgeChallenge of the Week: Neaten names. Data analysis has uncovered thousands of profiles with special characters or words in name fields that probably don’t belong there. Join our Data Doctor Challenge to investigate and correct as many as possible by Monday. The winner gets a badge and we all get a neater, cleaner tree.
  • Member of the Week: Ellen Smith, an insightful, generous genealogist who helps moderate our G2G forum. “It’s been wonderful to experience how collaborative genealogy in WikiTree makes all of us better genealogists,” she says in her blog interview. “Collaboration on our shared ancestors encourages us to share information and to hold each other to high standards.” Check your connection.
