Help finding details about John Hill Bowles, born mid/late 1700s, likely in Virginia

Hello, I am looking to find more details on John Hill Bowles' life. There are lots of Bowles, and lots and lots of John Bowles out there in Virginia. I believe John Hill lived in Virginia for most of his life; I had family living in Franklin, Virginia through the mid 20th century. He was mostly likely born in either England or Virginia.

I have very few details on John Hill's life. The only record I have found of him is his son Jacob's marriage license, which states that his wife was named Elizabeth. There was a prominent Bowles family in Virginia starting with a John Bowles who immigrated to Virginia from England permanently in 1621. I do know there was a John Bowles (b. 1743 d. 1836) who married Elizabeth/Betsy Curd, but there seems to be a lot of documentation of the family's life and I'm sceptical that a child who survived to adulthood would have been lost from the historical record. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
