I'm struggling to locate the family that Edith Linda Greene came from, despite finding a birth listing in NSW, and marriage and death in Victoria. Not to mention some Trove articles which have further narrowed my search. I also have already gotten records of her cremation from Altoona Cemetery. Her parents seem to be William Greene, and Caroline (unknown), and she should have at least one sibling, as noted below, but having searched each state, I don't seem to be able to find any sources for her parents and siblings, which is what I would really like.
Ideally, I would love someone to be able to step forward with an immediate connection with a Greene family living in Major's Creek, N.S.W. in 1900. But if anyone can in the family can find another clue, it would be most appreciated.
Obviously the possibility of the surname being Green, instead of Greene, is there, but all of her records seem to point toward Greene.
If you are interested in helping, please have a quick read through her profile, so you're not finding things that are already found.
I spent all day yesterday chasing a theory that she was the daughter of a William Greene, who was a stage actor in Australia from about 1912-1922, but I don't believe he was in Australia early enough, because a Trove article says that he was playing theatres in England before coming to Australia.
There are other Edith Greene's on Trove, with different middle names, so not to cause confusion. Ideally, I would like to find who the sibling is who reported Edith as missing, a couple of years before she married in Melbourne.
Edith doesn't appear to have had any children, although I guess I haven't ruled out any out of wedlock when she was much younger. According to my family, her family was well to do.
So, if you can help with any further information, thank you.
