Is it possible to generate a list of people born in Norway for a particular date? (The population is relatively small).

I am trying to locate someone in Norway, but I only have very limited reliable information. I definitely can specify the date of birth with complete accuracy. Is it possible to generate a list of births in Norway on a single day from 1976?

Norway has a small population, and the number of births must consequently be small also? Her name is Marianne (I know that is a popular name, but I have an idea about another personal name). I am not certain about her family name.

I would be grateful for any suggestions for progressing this enquiry. Kind regards,

I'm guessing that a birth as late as 1976 would most likely not be in any public records.

Wikipedia has the population of Norway in 1976 at 4,026,000

Live births that year were 53,474

Births per day in 1976 would average 146.50

You are going to run into the privacy laws, especially the GDPR which just came into force. It looks like the DigitalArkivet is enforcing a 110 year rule for births. As they state you can search for people living in Norway in 1910. digitalarkivet If it was 1876 you could do that with the advanced person search. Note though there are gaps in the records.

If you have a death date, you might be able to try sending a message to each of the regional archives, but i'm still guessing you run into the GDPR with that date.

90 years for church records. Up to and including 1929 are available.

100 years for censuses. The 1920 census will be published at the end of the year.
