Help with connecting the Abrahams/Gabrilowisch family?

After connecting up a couple of notables, I moved on to try one of the many non-notable people who has asked for help connecting to AJ Jacobs for the Global Family Reunion. It is proving a lot harder than my first two attempts and I'm looking for help.

The family is full of Russian and Polish immigrants to New York. I have explored many parts of the family tree and there are many paths to go down...but after creating almost 100 new profiles, I'm going to take a break. I thought I'd see if someone else might want to go down some of these branches to keep things moving.

Here's the tree of the person requesting assistance -- the top-down version is easiest to see all the potential branches:

This website was helpful in getting the tree started, and it references some other branches I haven't been able to find documentation for.

Another option not immediately obvious from that tree is to explore the world of Jewish immigrants in Buffalo NY, using  the amazing newspaper archives for upstate NY at fultonhistory.com. There are lots of obituaries and marriage announcements in there to help find connections, all text searchable. ISome families I have worked on so far include the Leibeskinds, Sugarmans, and Weinsteins, all with more branches to explore and even more spouses. (These families are connected back to the Gabrilowisch tree via siblings of spouse Philip Hornblas.)

Just think of how many people we'll have connected when we finally find the connection to AJ!

You've done an amazing job so far, Elizabeth. Thank you! Sometimes walking away and letting a fresh set of eyes check things out helps so much. I went through the same thing when trying to connect the Huffingtons. Love that Fulton history site, too! Such an awesome resource for New York.

WOOT! Elizabeth, you rock!
You did it! It can get prettier as others connect. They'll be excited to be our cousins!
