You don't state any dates for your Finchers. Assuming they were alive between 1841 and 1911 I suggest you start with UK census returns for Warwickshire. If you find too many results you can narrow these down to a particular town. You may find that some websites offer free trial searches and perhaps you can take advantage of those offers. I tend to use Genes Reunited on a pay to view basis as I have generally found their transcriptions to contain few errors which means that their search engine performance is enhanced. On one other site I paid out good money and found that I spent my time submitting corrections to their many errors. I did not renew. Suggest you pay to view original documents and save these to you computer. This will give you a complete snapshot of the family at a moment in time. Ten years later you can see who is still at home, or is missing.

Having collected the basic info and matched it to your ancestors you can then use the following link FamilySearch.org — Free Family History and Genealogy Records   for birth marriage and death records of the individuals. Actually their records are based on Church records, and Bishops Transcripts of Church records from about 1538. Birth dates are rare so you will have to rely on Christening/Baptismal records. Marriage and burial records are good but you may not know the exact date of death from these. This could take you back before the UK official BMD records which did not start until 1838.

When you are looking at records in the 16th century you need to be aware of the Gregorian calendar changes which took place in England in 1582. Google Wikipedia for the full info.

You also need to know that until 1752 the start of the year was 25 March not 1 January.

Good luck with your researches
