Question

William G Benham FAG Link died December 30, 1894 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. See Obituary. He is a Veteran of Company E, 8th Regiment, Conn. Vols. I believe he is a veteran of the Civil War? Needs rank enlistment date and muster out dates 

He needs parental lineage and help with military service sources and updating of his profile. His obituary is very interesting. Any help is appreciated

I believe reduction in rank was for the burglary. Many had this issue. Maybe the era at this time had financial issues?

They Omitted Rank on Gravestone! Should we use Corporal or reduced rank of Private?
