Corporal Frederick “Fred” Knickerbocker was born about 1839 (estimate per obit died at age 61 in 1900) in Connecticut. He is a Civil War veteran. He died January 12, 1900 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Needs more sources added  with military records such as enlisted date and muster out date ; also needs help with family lineage

Unless he was born between Jan 1 and Jan 12, I would estimate his year of birth about 1840, not 1839.
