When Global Cemeteries does the next project check-in, I already have it on the task-list to reach out to users following the incorrect (or misspelled) tags like:

  • Cementary
  • Cementeries
  • Cementries
  • Cemetary
  • Cemetaries
  • Cemetry

LOL when I first started seeking out bad category names, I had a list of misspellings to check, including almost all of those in your list. Never thought of cementaries though.
Cementaries are commonly used by the mafia, usually underwater.

I thought it was perhaps a spelling variation from another language at first, but realized quickly it was a just a common typo. For instance, the website for New Bern, North Carolina contains the typo in the URL: /historic-cementeries/ but the copy on the page is spelled correctly.

Unfortunately, I have observed that many of us can look at a misspelled word side-by-side with the correct spelling, and fail to perceive that the two spellings are different.
