WikiTree no longer allows en masse import of GEDCOMs. When you upload a GEDCOM, you are required to process each profile individually before you can edit existing profiles or create new profiles. This procedure is called GEDCOMpare.

Guests (your current level) and Family Members can only use the comparison functionality of GEDCOMpare. Before you can edit or add profiles, you must sign the Honor Code.

edit: If you have tried to upload a GEDCOM, but were unable to do so, make sure your GEDCOM is a .ged file. Also, your GEDCOM cannot contain more than 5000 profiles.

Wikitree does NOT autpopulate the tree with your details. That is something that you are required to do yourself.

I suggest that you start off with a small tree - not more than 20 to 50 names.

Hi Richard, just checked your Profile and it shows you are on a Guest Membership and won't be able to use GEDCOMpare to bring your data into WikiTree until you have agreed to be a Volunteer and the Honor Code.

Gilly Wood, who is a Greeter, left a message on your Profile page to help you get started on WikiTree.  Please contact her and she will be more than willing to help in this regard.

And Welcome to WikiTree while we're at it.
