When is the cutoff for the club100 badges?

The counter for the Club badges states the following:

Another 100 before midnight GMT on the last day of the month will earn the April Club 100 badge.

Is the cutoff really at midnight of the last day of the month, or is it supposed to say midnight of the first day of the next month?

Just wondering if there is an error in there or if the last day of the month really does not count towards the club badges. In the case of the latter, does it count towards the following month?

Because the timing is based on GMT, not your local time  . . .

This can cause some folk to miss out on the 100 or 1000 badges because they run out of GMT time, even though it is not yet midnight locally to them.

You can work it out here

Also, anything past midnight is the next day .. so the one day would end on whatever microsecond it counts as being "today" up until right before 12 am, because 12 am itself is already the "next day".  cheeky  (12 pm is noon.)

I think your confusion is because the word midnight is ambiguous - some people take it as meaning the start of the day, some people take it as meaning the end of the day (see for example https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/6459/how-should-midnight-on-be-interpreted)

In the case of the Club badges it means 1 minute after 11:59 pm GMT on the last day of the month, so contributions on the last day count (but depending on your time zone not necessarily all of the last day, as other people have mentioned).

I had no idea there were people that used midnight incorrectly on purpose seeing as pretty much all notations for time do agree.

12:00 am standing for ante meridiem (before midday) so clearly it belongs to the noon that comes after it.

And on a 24-hour clock it is even clearer, as the 24-hours clock tends to be, that the day starts at 00:00.

And yeah, I understand it uses GMT, as any international website or community should. And now also understand that it is meant to say it starts and ends at midnight of the first day of each month but is just clumsily written.

The club100 badge starts on the first of each month and ends on the last day of the month at midnight. Each month, it starts over.

Since it starts at midnight of the first day and ends at midnight of the last day am I correct in understand that any edits made on the last day are not counted?

My guess is because the system needs time to process things.
Edits on the last day are counted.

I was slightly confused by this at first, since I thought it went by everyone's local time.  But then I noticed under the Contributions tab that it goes by GMT.  So I take note of that time when I'm trying to reach one of the badge goals.

And it goes until 11:59pm (23:59) GMT on the last day of the month.  Once 12:00am hits, it's the next day/month.
