Which of the two death dates is correct?

Helmut commented when he proposed this two months ago:  "The Feb 1198 death date was used in older literature, newer research settled on 1197."  A death date should never prevent a merge.  It's easy enough to use one and note the other one in the bio...

Thank you everyone for your comments and help. Sorry to drop the request in G2G and run. I've been helping my fellow American coworker navigate the medical system overseas since it is highly likely that she has caught Covid-19 and an hour after I posted this, I started displaying worrying symptoms as well. So most of my time has been dealing with all that. Thanks again and take care!
Caitlin, I'm so sorry to hear this.  Hoping you both recover quickly!

That merge has only just been proposed. Both profile managers have 30 days to approve / reject or defer it. If they don’t after 30 it will be default approved, in the meantime we wait.

Actually it was proposed two months ago, I had a look at it this morning but ran out of time to do any research. Sometimes when you do that it seems to reset the proposal date?

The question that needs to be asked is which LNAB is correct?  Once that is determined, the merge can be completed.

I've added PPP to both profiles, to prevent them from being merged in the 'wrong' direction, until the LNAB can be determined.

He was an ancestor of the Nassau dynasty but Laurenburg would seem to be the correct LNAB.  Certainly he is named as Walram I von Laurenburg in Europaische Stammtafeln, Vol. 1.I, table 60, and he succeeded as Graf von Nassau in 1193.

Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, also has him as Walram von Laurenburg

Thanks, John.  I've completed the merge.
