Is this the proper format for a profile - Biography, Citations, Acknowledgements, Sources

I thought the Basic format was as follows:

Recently I have come across Profiles formatted as follows:

==Citations==

<references >

==Acknowledgements==

==Sources==

What is the preferred method of setting up a profile?

Can someone remind me how to format the parents' names when I'm creating a biography from scratch so that they will create links to the parents' profiles? Can't seem to find that anywhere, and am working on orphan profiles which often don't have bios. Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to add that, as noted in the Help link, all of theses elements are optional (or at least depend on the needs of the particular profile) except for:
