Can the "Genealogy Help" question section be streamlined so it may be more user friendly?

It seems that many questions go unanswered. Is there some way to re-organize this to be user friendly? What percentage of these questions are actually answered? Seems to me if we are here to "help" each other we are falling short of the mark. I actually forget about this section unless I am looking for direction/help and I am sure there are many others like myself that get lost in their own lines of search. Is there someway we could be notified of questions pertaining to surnames we manage? Then we could just take a quick look at the question, should we be so inclined to be helpful, to see if it pertains to our line and offer assistance. Thoughts/comments/solutions?

I think it would be interesting to see how many answers are acknowledged by the original posters. I've answered around 150 questions. I think I've gotten two Thank Yous and one email thanking me for an answer.  Do people who post questions come back to read the answers?
I certainly cannot speak for those who do not come back, however, as for my self, this is  my third inquiry since March 2012 and this query was the first answered. The others were specific to my lineage.  I assumed no one was able to help.

It certainly would be nice to receive acknowledgement for your efforts and I totally understand that.

That's exactly what we're working on, Amy!

There will be a feature added soon where you can monitor surnames. New Q&A tagged to the surname will appear in a feed on your navigation home page.

Thankyou Chris! Look forward to this feature! I hope this proves to be helpful to our fellow Wikitreer's and in the growing of a worldwide tree!yes

In the meantime, you can add an RSS feed for a surname tag to your feed reader (Google Reader, etc.). That's what I do. Then you'll see all questions tagged with that surname in your feed reader. :)

To find these feeds, go to a surname tag page, eg. http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/tag/adams , and look on the right hand side, just below the ads.
