Looking for Parents of Wilson Maddox (Maddox-2508) 1757-1834 with documentation.

Question

Multiple Ancestry.com trees have either Robert (1725-1800 or 1835[sic]) or William Maddox (1718-1800). All have mother as Elizabeth Wilson (1725-1775), so Robert and William may be same person. (Some trees have William as a Civil War soldier 60+ years after his death - thus my reluctance.) Unfortunately no tree has documentation beyond each other's tree to prove lineage.

There are Quaker Meeting Records for JOHN WILSON MADDOX in Virginia

He was the son of John Maddox and Elizabeth Sherwood.

He had a brother named William so your Wilson's dad probably William. The WILSON middle names occurs a few times in this line. John Wilson Maddox also named a son Wilson born later than your Wilson

Thank you for your suggestion.  I just went through familysearch.org and found nothing that mentions Wilson with Robert, William or Elizabeth.  Granted I am new to that site and may have missed something.
