Parents of Mary Catherine (McWilliams) Mettee (abt. 1845- abt. 1925)

Question

I have struggled on this relationship for some time now. I have spent the last few days researching this side of the family.

What I know: Mary was born in England sometime during the 1830's-1860's.

She has several children, one is Harrison C. Mettee which often appears on the Census as a Harry C. Mettee.

Her husband was George Mettee (We know little about George)

Does anyone have any ideas? McWilliams is a pretty common surname, Mettee is not.

Mary McWilliams Mettee is listed as being born in Ohio-she married George Washington Mettee in Pontiac Illinois- they has 6 children- one of them was my gr-gr-father, Harrison Chase Mettee- they divorced and George W went to I believe Wisconsin and remarried--after his 2nd wife died he returned to Indiana where he was born and married a 3rd time to Matilda Alton--his isister & brother moved to chicago-I have lots more info and would be glad to share <email redacted - please use Private Message option from member's profile>
